About John Glynn: In-Person Expert Classic Car Valuer

I am an independent specialist vehicle valuation expert with over forty years’ experience in the motor trade, including ten years with Glass’s Guide as Editor of the Guide to Older Cars and Modern Classics. During that time, I developed and managed early consumer-facing valuation systems and valued tens of thousands of vehicles each month across a wide range of sectors.
Since 2010, I have operated exclusively as an independent valuation consultant and Expert Witness. I am regularly instructed by solicitors, insurers, lenders and private clients in Family, Civil and Criminal matters, often acting as a Single Joint Expert. My work ranges from single-vehicle disputes to complex, multi-million-pound collections and claims, and is prepared in line with CPR Part 35 and FPR Part 25 requirements.
I am process-driven and particularly engaged by complex valuation questions involving incomplete histories, disputed ownership, restoration quality, hidden assets and competing expert opinions. I work across all types of vehicles – from everyday cars to historically significant competition vehicles – applying a structured and evidence-led methodology in each case.
Alongside my expert work, I have a long-standing involvement in the specialist and historic vehicle world, including work with Tuthill Porsche and other leading UK preparers, and experience within historic motorsport. My background combines practical motor trade experience, editorial valuation authority and forensic analysis in litigation environments, including expert witness work for Trading Standards and both defence and prosecution in criminal law.
Most of my work arises through referral and repeat instruction. I am accustomed to high-conflict and high-value matters and provide clear, independent valuation evidence to assist parties and the court.
