My Cars: 2015 Honda Civic Diesel Tourer

People often ask me what a leading car valuer and experienced retail and fleet car buyer drives every day and this Mk9 Honda Civic 1.6 i-DTEC Tourer is the current daily driver. I bought it in January 2020 from the first owner showing just under 70k miles. At time of writing (January 2026) it shows just under 180k miles and is still running well. I have a very small Youtube channel for fellow Civic diesel owners and we share some stories on there.
I was a Honda buyer for years and am a fan of the brand’s high quality. I toured the Swindon factory several times and it convinced me to start buying UK-made Honda products once my Subaru Legacy obsession began to soften when the good ones got too old. The Civic Tourer (estate) was designed in Europe and built in Swindon and it is an exceptional car comfortable, quiet and super economical. The only real downside is the Euro 5 engine – later CRV diesels are Euro 6.
I trained as a mechanic, and enjoy working on my own cars. The Civic is my second Honda – the first was a one-owner 2006 CRV 2-litre Executive Manual VTEC petrol, which I bought as a Cat C with front and rear damage, repaired and then converted to LPG. I still have the CRV and it is a great car. I recently changed the timing chain and rebuilt the suspension before fiting snow tyres. I am considering a body lift on it just for fun. I use it for furniture buying, tip runs and dog walks!
